Shem is a contemporary street artist from Lima, Peru. Shem's artistic calling came early in life, as he found himself drawn to the world of drawing from the tender age of 3. Remarkably, he achieved an art diploma by the age of 10 at the George Washington School in Lima, a testament to his prodigious talent and dedication.

In 1989, Shem's life took a political turn, leading his entire family to relocate to Lausanne, Switzerland. It was here that Shem's artistic journey took a new trajectory. His artistic awakening came during train journeys across Switzerland, where he was captivated by the visual impact of graffiti adorning the urban landscape.

Shem's foray into graffiti art began with serendipitous encounters on the local scene. These early interactions provided him with the opportunity to take his first steps as a graffiti artist. Fuelled by passion and a desire to push artistic boundaries, he committed himself to the daring act of painting trains, subways, and stations, often in complete defiance of the law. These underground works served as both a canvas and a statement, revealing the rebellious spirit of a burgeoning artist.

In more recent years, Shem has transitioned to canvas, where he has honed his skills as an experienced artist. His relentless pursuit of artistic excellence has led him to explore new techniques, including superposition and transparency, allowing him to create visually captivating and emotionally resonant works.

The artist's toolbox has expanded, as he deftly wields a diverse array of mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, oil, and pastel. Through this rich palette of tools, he achieves the desired colors and textures that breathe life into his art. Shem's work is a testament to the dynamic intersection of creativity and innovation.

In a testament to his collaborative spirit, Shem often partners with other artists to bring graffiti art to unexpected locations. This reflects his identity as a complete artist who is both creative and innovative. His contributions to the world of art have not gone unnoticed, earning him recognition and acclaim from art critics and enthusiasts alike.
