About the author
Valérie Poupon, drawing artist, lives and works in France where she specializes in ink on paper and ink on cardboard. His impressionistic black and white drawings capture portraits and landscapes with remarkable intensity and depth.
Valérie's initial inspiration came from the discovery of the work of a great artist around the Sainte-Victoire mountain, which marked the beginning of her artistic career. Fascinated by this encounter, she began to create drawings that evoke the majesty and serenity of nature.
His work later evolved to include the theme of the tree, a symbol of deep roots and connections, inspired by his many travels. This artistic exploration led her to a fantasized Morocco, linked to her origins. This imaginary journey, rich in discoveries and emotions, has not yet found its conclusion, reflected in his drawings of striking and intriguing faces.
Valérie Poupon chooses to work exclusively with Indian ink, a medium which allows no repentance or turning back the clock. This uncompromising approach gives his works a striking purity and immediacy. His monochrome worlds are imbued with subtle nuances, inviting the viewer into deep contemplation.
