Jacques Vanroose, who lives in Bruges, attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges, but it was only after his professional career that he devoted himself entirely to the creation of bronze or ceramic sculptures.

Often, the men and women of Jacques Vanroose dance, sometimes alone, sometimes in pairs or in groups. They dance on the ground, in the air held together by almost invisible strings, but also in more bizarre situations: together on a large ball, alone on one foot at the end of a pole, descending along ropes, or scales. Balance and movement are clearly at the center of the work of this artist, who willingly admits to being inspired by the world of dance, even the circus or gymnastics: we also come across ribbon dancers or trapeze artists.

At the start of each of these sculptures, a model of a figure in wax. It is this figure that will then allow the casting of bronze using the lost wax technique. The artist's work enjoys great visibility thanks to its inclusion in the collections of the Belgian art publisher Gardeco. Each year, the brand is present at Maison et Objet in Paris and at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, and exhibits there, among other things, sculptures by the artist.
