Pablo Triste

Pablo Triste is a Chilean photographer who specializes in landscape photography. From north to south, Chile. A land as long as it is varied, and in between, the Cordillera de Los Andes and the Pacific coast, a narrow strip of territory that gathers old riverbeds now dry, mountain ranges of varying appearances, dead and alive forests, the desert, and the austral mist.

He likes how nature makes him feel. He frames the layers of colors, the petrous reliefs, as he looks at curving hills and gritty surfaces. His goal in depicting these moments isn't to show off a certain location, but to represent how they make him feel: nostalgia, longing, and awe. The outdoors makes him feel interpellated, calling into question all of his assumptions and revealing new ones to me. It's like a window into his own mind.
