Wilhem Von Kalisz is a contemporary Belgian painter. The artist believes that a painting is not an artwork unless it hides from the first comer, from the first glance, the law of its composition and the rules of its game. Furthermore, an artwork should be imperceptible at all times.Its laws and rules, on the other hand, are not hidden behind the inaccessibility of a secret; they can never be converted into something that could be called a perception in the present.
His work is mostly focused on monumental portraiture and the reconstruction of historical artworks. Color selection and composition are always made with the goal of demonstrating to humanity his vision of the world beyond appearances.
Wilhem Von Kalisz was born in Belgium, he lives and works in the Netherlands. He exhibited his works in South Korea, Congo, Portugal, Belgium, Russia, Spain, China and Pakistan.
