This painting is inspired by the sounds of the dove - a bird which singing is familiar to everyone and for many people it is associated with childhood. Standing at the window on a sunny day, I felt this singing carry me away at a time when the only serious task was to learn the multiplication table; everything else was filled with carelessness. Every day was like a holiday, and so in the picture green leaves and flowers resemble festive ribbons and confetti.

At first I thought to paint the birds in more detail so that they were recognizable, but then I realized that in this painting it is much more important for me to keep «children’s handwriting», a sweeping way of putting brushstrokes that adds dynamics, a special mood to the picture, an effect of a memory that is so precious and erased over time. In some places, oil paints resemble crayons that we used to paint on asphalt.

I capture moments, feelings and situations. My works are different in terms of the mood and technique, but utterly similar in one thing: they all tell a story of how it is important to be honest with yourself, especially when you live in an environment which pays no attention to art and artists, and at best wants to enroll you for entertainment or propaganda.
