A series of minimalist paintings on paper inspired by aerial photography.
Aerial photographs of the amazingly colorful salt ponds look like abstract paintings.
This unusual sight can be seen in the San Francisco Bay, where the water of an artificial pond evaporates and leaves only crystallized salt, colored algae and microorganisms. Ponds with low or medium salinity are green or pink, and as the salinity increases, the water becomes more reddish. In addition, the weather also affects the color of the reservoir, as the more rain, the clearer the water.

Materials used:
- 2 sheets of thick watercolor paper 42x29.7 cm each (total size of the diptise 42x59.4 cm);
- high-quality lightfast acrylic paints.

Acrylic

Paint using traditional pigments mixed with synthetic resins.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Gouache

The substances are diluted with water and rendered pasty and opaque by the addition of gum and honey. The colors become opaque and can, therefore, be superimposed, which makes one paint with gouache as with oil. The gouache is recommended by its bright, fresh and delicate tones.

Lacquer

Paint made with a resin from tree sap, various shrubs or with lacquer paints based on thermosetting resins. The technique consists in superimposing layers of lacquers with a vigorous polishing between each layer. It is mostly smooth shiny, but can sometimes also be satin or very Matt.

Oil

Paint consisting of pigments bound with linseed oil or carnations. The traditional technique consists of superimposing layers of paint increasingly rich in oil for a solid and durable hanger.

Pigments

Paint made with colored powder suspended in a liquid binder to obtain some paint or ink.

Tempera

Paint based on an emulsion, greasy or lean with a pigment. Traditionally it is a painting using egg yolk, a natural emulsion, or whole egg as a medium to bind pigments.

Ink

A strongly tinted liquid or paste that is used to mark paper or other printable materials. The design is done manually with a slab, feather, brush, or straightener.

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.
