This work is part of the "Building Materials" series, in which I tried to look at reality through the prism of the architecture that surrounds me. For the most part, these are typical panel buildings of the Soviet occupation period. The work "Admirable Ukraine" tells about my love for my homeland, which I had to nurture in myself, because I could not fall in love with it at first sight. The typical, gray construction of residential areas does not attract you right away, but if you look a little more closely, you begin to feel that there is a certain charm and beauty in this replicated geometry.The sky and the earth, as symbols of the natural environment, are very active and only immerse the viewer deeper into the work. In addition, I created a mosaic panel on one of the buildings that says LEARN. It turned out a kind of recursion (a mosaic within a mosaic). That is why I raised the issue of the destruction of monumental artistic heritage on the territory of Ukraine. The work was presented at the First Festival of Monumental Art of Ukraine in the city of Chernihiv.

Andrii Davydenko, a contemporary Ukrainian artist, embarked on his artistic journey in 2016 as a student at the Kyiv College of Art and Design. There, he delved into the study of various artistic mediums, including graphics, painting, and graphic editors. In 2021, he furthered his artistic education by enrolling in the National Academy of Art and Architecture, specializing in painting and later joining the workshop of monumental art named after Storozhenko.

Davydenko's artistic explorations encompass a wide range of topics and mediums. Early in his career, he focused on researching typical Ukrainian architecture during the Soviet occupation, employing diverse techniques such as oil painting, acrylic posters, mosaic panels, and landscapes crafted from insulating tape. His enthusiasm for artistic materials and their unconventional applications is evident in his work. Additionally, Davydenko expresses a deep appreciation for classical Italian painting and Ukrainian art throughout different historical periods, showcasing his diverse influences and interests in the realm of visual arts.
