Gouache

The substances are diluted with water and rendered pasty and opaque by the addition of gum and honey. The colors become opaque and can, therefore, be superimposed, which makes one paint with gouache as with oil. The gouache is recommended by its bright, fresh and delicate tones.

Acrylic

Paint using traditional pigments mixed with synthetic resins.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Ink

A strongly tinted liquid or paste that is used to mark paper or other printable materials. The design is done manually with a slab, feather, brush, or straightener.

Outsider Art

Invented by Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985) in 1945, the idea is to create works with primitive graphics that take no academic reference into account. He will also advise to "draw like a child" and encourage self-taught artists.

Hello, my name is Bérénice. I have a rather typical artistic life course. Scribbles on loose sheets in childhood, art schools as a school curriculum, mentions of excellence in front of teachers...

What makes me there today is that for a long, very long part of my life I created what was expected of me without ever knowing who I am. I met the expectations and requirements to have my diplomas, it paid off at the time. Except that today I am in a real discovery of myself through my art.

Sometimes it takes me years to complete a piece. First I have a flash in my head. Then I sketch it. Then I lay a base in the material. And I edit, edit and edit again. Until the result resonates deeply with my soul.

Art can be an escape. I mainly use it as a therapy or an observation of who I am. Through gestures and images, I speak. Better than in front of a psychologist. And sometimes I manage to put words down afterwards. Sometimes I don't feel the need. It's up to you too to feel, see and interpret what you want.

I like trees because I myself am a Tree: with my roots, my trunk and my leaves. Life.

Art has allowed me to heal from the worst and build the best.
