This is my second painting from the series of paintings "Quarry Machines"

Kryvyi Rih is a large iron ore mining city located in the Dnipropetrovsk region in eastern Ukraine. I was born there. The city was founded in the early 20th century when rich iron ore deposits were discovered in the region.
In 1881, a railroad line was laid to Kryvyi Rih, which allowed for the launch of rail freight transportation. This gave impetus to the development of the mining and metallurgical complex, which quickly became one of the largest in Ukraine.

A unique feature of Kryvyi Rih is that five mining and processing plants (MPPs) were of city-forming importance for the city: Southern, Central, Northern, Ingulets, and the former Kryvyi Rih. These enterprises are important for the city and the country. The city's mining and processing plants specialize in the extraction, processing, and production of raw materials for the metallurgical industry: pellets and iron ore concentrate.

My first acquaintance with the quarry was in 2018, when I was invited to draw postcards with sketches of quarry equipment (excavators, bulldozers, trucks, etc.) for the Metallurgist Day at Ingulets. I was very excited about it then. The second acquaintance took place through an order in April 2020, when I had to paint 8 panoramic paintings with landscapes of a granite quarry located outside the city. So this painting is dedicated to quarries, namely transportation and the people who work there.
