Hello!

My name is Sofia and I am a painter passionate about the cultural richness of North Africa and Amazigh/Berber. My art is imbued with the beauty and diversity of these centuries-old traditions, and I strive to capture the very essence of these legacies through my works. As a versatile artist, I explore different mediums to bring my creative visions to life, whether through painting, drawing, or woodcuts. Each work I create is an invitation to travel into the landscapes of the soul and history, where vibrant colors and eloquent shapes tell ancient and timeless tales.

Through culture, I explore different notions such as: intimacy, family, childhood memories, cultural heritage, identity, trauma. I like to explore different notions, reflect deeply on them, and share them in order to exchange and enrich myself. 

In my process, I like to stage through photography, which allows me to have a frame of reference, and it's a way of appropriating my own culture in a personal and lived way, it's a way of reconnecting with it.
