Diana has always been in interested in visual creative expression and different materials. Having an education of a bookbinder, Diana started to paint seriously when she became an apprentice of the acclaimed Latvian painter Nikolajs Karagodins. Diana started as a landscape and still life painter, but throughout these years has developed her style as a painter of florals and nature. Large influence on the development of her current works can be credited to her studies of aroma therapy. The artist creates either scented soaps, oil perfumes or scented aroma bags for each of her artworks. Every painting is supposed to evoke a sense of being transported to a meadow, surrounded by nature - numerous layers of paint are used to achieve the texture of plants, dynamism of wind, the play of the light and shadows as well as to evoke the sense of abundance and growth.
