Gabi Jimenez is a contemporary French artist who has been actively involved in the international contemporary art scene since 2004. His contributions have left a significant mark on various platforms. In 2007, Jiménez showcased his work at the esteemed 52nd Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, solidifying his presence on the global stage.

Continuing to exhibit internationally, he presented installations and artworks at the “Kitch Konvention und Kunst Art contemporain-rom” in Cologne, Germany in 2009 and held a solo exhibition at the “First International Seminar on Romani Arts” in Cáceres, Spain in 2010.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Jiménez is deeply committed to political and community activism, notably advocating for the rights of Roma and travelers. His courage to engage with international organizations led to the creation of the impactful work “The Apocalypse According to Saint Nicholas” in 2010.

His activism is reflected in his art, and in 2013, two of his paintings depicting “Le Grand Paris” were acquired by the French State following a personal exhibition at DIHAL - Interministerial Delegation for Accommodation and Access to Housing - in Paris.

Jimenez's dedication to social causes garnered recognition from the Ministry of Culture of Spain, which awarded him the prestigious “Painting and Plastic Arts” prize in 2014. That same year, one of his works was acquired by the President of the European Court of Human Rights.

His reputation continued to grow, with his artwork "Caravan under two cypresses," originally exhibited at the 2007 Venice Biennale, being showcased in San Sebastian, Spain in 2016 as part of the exhibition “Tratado de Paz” on the representation of peace.

In 2021, Jimenez's influence reached new heights as five of his works entered the MUCEM National Collections. The following year, he was commissioned by MUCEM to create an installation titled “Le Musée du Gadjo” for the “BARVALO” exhibition in 2023, cementing his role as a member of the committee of experts for this prestigious event.
