Aucune photo insoutenable, aucune photo atroce.

Jean-Maxime Relange (1938 - 2017) began painting at the Académie Julian, which was attended in particular by Bonnard, Matisse and Maurice Denis and won the Grand Prix Julian.

He was also the recipient of the Fernand Cormon and Maryse Anderbhour prizes from the Taylor Foundation.
In 1969, Jean-Maxime Relange founded, with Claude Schürr and Dina Pickard, the Port Royal Academy in which he taught until his death.

Jean-Maxime Relange taught painting with the guideline “paint what you see”, considering that painting must remain simple, but that simplicity can only exist with interior complexity. Painting should be for him the reflection of the temperament and individuality of its creator, who must have the courage to face the isolation and loneliness of his studio.

Jean-Maxime Relange has written a technical book on oil painting: “from inspiration to painted work” published by Ulisse.

Jean-Maxime Relange was honorary president of the drawing and watercolor painting fair after having been president of the fair from 2002 to 2011.

All of his works presented on ArtMajeur under his profile are sold by his rights holders: Dina Pickard Relange and Eloi Relange
