The theme of motherhood is a familiar one, and the artist has attempted to represent it in an abstract style. Whether the artwork pertains to a mother's connection with her children or has a broader significance, the interpretation can be subjective.

Here, artist Kasim Kanasavi has used his signature style to produce a work of art on metal, which is not his usual medium. The work is a metal sculpture representing motherhood. The elaborate details capture the viewer's attention. And since the copper metal sheet used in the work is timeless, the artwork is dynamic and will age well with time.

Kasim Kanasavi, a contemporary Indian artist, has dedicated over 25 years of his life to the practice and teaching of fine arts. Born on July 20, 1973, in the quaint village of Kandgal in Karnataka, India, Kasim's artistic journey is marked by resilience, passion, and a deep connection to his roots.

Growing up in challenging circumstances, Kasim developed a profound interest in visual arts and films from a young age. However, faced with financial constraints, he undertook various odd jobs while nurturing his love for the arts. His journey took a significant turn when he acquired skills in screen printing, a testament to his determination to overcome obstacles.

Completing his schooling at a state-run institution in Ilkal, Karnataka, Kasim pursued a five-year Diploma in Fine Arts from Kannada University in Hampi. Eager to refine his craft, he continued his artistic education at the Ken School of Arts in Bengaluru, India. Armed with a robust foundation in fine arts, Kasim emerged as a skilled and visionary artist.

After completing his formal art education, Kasim recognized the lack of proper art education in his region and decided to address this issue. In 2002, he made the pivotal decision to become an art teacher, joining a government school in the nearby village of Muradi. In this role, he worked tirelessly to impart artistic knowledge and skills to young minds, striving to empower students and foster creativity in the community.

Kasim Kanasavi's artistic style is characterized by a dream-like quality, featuring recurring motifs such as womanhood, animals, eyes, the moon, and mythology. His unique perspective and dedication to the arts earned him acclaim, culminating in the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsav Award in 2014 for his outstanding work titled 'Gandhi Vichardhara 2.'
