Mathilde Oscar is an artist passionate about painting, which she first practices after studying Art History. She then moved on to graphic design and then discovered photography in 2013 and transposed her pictorial ideas strongly inspired by the great masters of painting, romanticism and neoclassicism. The making of sets, costumes and accessories is often added to his creative process, but sometimes some of his inspirations can emerge from a digitally created world. This is how we find in his works this light and this special atmosphere that make his photographs real paintings.

She thus develops a unique visual art combining the codes of classical painting with photography and digital manipulation. Often anachronistic and offbeat, his portraits seem lost in an unknown space-time, with multiple references to the history of Art. Her universe is romantic and sometimes tinged with surrealism, where her characters, often female, proudly pose as charismatic Amazons.

Mathilde Oscar was born in Paris in 1980, she lives and works in Cannes in the south of France. She won the Creative Photography Award, “The portrait Masters” in 2019 in the USA and second prizes in 2020. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and has been the subject of numerous publications and television appearances.
