As with most of my works, the inspiration for this painting was nature and animals that I love observing in their natural environment, spending a lot of time there. A horse jumping is, next to a ship under full sail, one of the most beautiful views we can observe. In art, I don't think I have more interesting ideas than what surrounds us, but[...]
As with most of my works, the inspiration for this painting was nature and animals that I love observing in their natural environment, spending a lot of time there. A horse jumping is, next to a ship under full sail, one of the most beautiful views we can observe. In art, I don't think I have more interesting ideas than what surrounds us, but at the same time it is difficult to notice and fleeting. I spend a lot of time sketching horses, either loose in the pastures or under saddle. In addition to the classic portrait, I love painting horses in full movement, jumping or galloping. The historical context is very important to me and I often refer to it in my paintings. The horse has been with us for millennia, so the human-animal relationship in this case is probably one of the most important, and it is certainly this relationship that has played the most important role in the development of our civilization.
Jak do większości moich prac, inspiracją do namalowania i tego obrazu była natura, zwierzęta, które uwielbiam obserwować w ich naturalnym środowisku spędzając tam wiele czasu. Koń w skoku, to obok statku pod pełnymi żaglami jeden z najpiękniejszych widoków jaki możemy obserwować. W sztuce nie mam chyba ciekawszych, idei niż to co nas otacza, ale zarazem jest trudno dostrzegalne, ulotne. Spędzam mnóstwo czasu szkicując konie, czy to luzem na pastwiskach, czy pod siodłem. Oprócz klasycznego portretu, uwielbiam malować konie w ich pełnym ruchu, w skoku czy w galopie. Bardzo istotny jest dla mnie kontekst historyczny do którego często odwołuję się w moich obrazach. Koń towarzyszy nam od tysiącleci, więc relacja człowiek - zwierzę w tym przypadku jest chyba jedną z najważniejszych, a już na pewno to właśnie ta relacja odegrała najistotniejszą rolę w rozwoju naszej cywilizacji.

MICHAŁ NOWAKOWSKI, born in 1967, member of the Association of Polish Artists and the Society of Equestrian Artists in Great Britain. He has been painting professionally since 1992. Mainly oil and acrylic paintings and drawing techniques – ink, pencil, charcoal, digital art. Author of numerous illustrations for books and stories. His main interests include animalistic painting, horses, equestrianism, landscape and colors of nature, but also battles and portraits. Living in the provinces, she looks for inspiration primarily in the nature surrounding us, the animal world in which the horse occupies a special place due to its beauty and history. As a self-educator, he developed his craft over the years, primarily by drawing and painting from nature, studying anatomy, but also willingly making copies of paintings by old masters. History is his second passion, next to painting. Hence, battle scenes praising the glory of Polish weapons often appear in Michał's works. As a versatile artist, he also likes to explore other subjects such as landscape and portraiture. Favorite style is realism and hyperrealism

MICHAŁ NOWAKOWSKI, rocznik 1967, członek Związku Polskich Artystów Plastyków oraz Society of Equestrian Artists w Wielkiej Brytanii. Maluje profesjonalnie od 1992 roku. Głównie obrazy olejne, akrylowe i techniki rysunkowe – tusz, ołówek, węgiel, digital art. Autor licznych ilustracji do książek i opowiadań. Główne zainteresowania to malarstwo animalistyczne, konie, jeździectwo, krajobraz i kolory natury ale także batalistyka i portret. Mieszkając na prowincji inspiracji przede szuka w otaczającej nas przyrodzie, świecie zwierząt w którym koń ze względu na swoje piękno i historię zajmuje szczególne miejsce. Jako autodydakta przez lata rozwijał swój warsztat przede wszystkim rysując i malując z natury, studiując anatomię, ale chętnie też wykonując kopie obrazów dawnych mistrzów. Historia to obok malarstwa druga jego pasja. Stąd też często w pracach Michała pojawiają się sceny batalistyczne sławiące chwałę polskiego oręża. Jako wszechstronny artysta lubi też eksplorować inne tematy, takie jak krajobraz i portret. Ulubiony styl to realizm i hiperrealizm
