Immerse yourself in the vibrant and imaginative world of Mozart Guerra with "Geisha Jaune," a captivating sculpture that showcases the artist's innovative use of materials and his unique artistic vision. Made from foam, string and pins, this piece transforms everyday materials into a stunning visual representation of a geisha's head, complete with intricate details and a dynamic array of textures.

The sculpture is characterized by its bold yellow color, which not only catches the eye but also gives it a feeling of energy and vibrancy. The elaborate design features multiple strands intricately arranged to form facial features and hair, adorned with extended cords that mimic traditional geisha hair decorations. The Geisha's lips are subtly highlighted in red, adding a touch of elegance and contrast to the monochromatic scheme. Of note is the detail of the sealed lips, a subliminal message from the artist.

Technique: Foam, ropes and pins

Mozart Guerra, born 1962 in Recife, in the North-East of Brazil, studied architecture at the Federal University of Pernambuco where he graduated as an architect in 1986.

At the end of the 1980s, using his knowledge of space and volumes, he took part in the production of a large number of sets for theatre, carnival, television and cinema. At the same time, he devoted himself to his passion for sculpture by drawing inspiration from the techniques and materials used in the decoration workshops. He creates works based on polystyrene, resin, foam, materials to which he will remain faithful thereafter.
