Ever since I was a child my shyness has led me to observe people. I noticed their looks, their body postures, the way they spoke, the way they related to each other. This observation of others allowed me to get to know others as well as myself. As emotions are universal, the emotion that I saw in others I saw in myself too, and the union that I felt with others made me feel good.

I realised that most of us go through life hiding our true essence, our emotions. But there is always a moment when that comes out. Sometimes a person's emotion is felt in a second, in a gesture, in a look, and that second is what I want to capture in my works of art, so that second of authenticity is eternal.

There is also a noticeable influence of ancient art in my works because I like to feel that there were people centuries ago who captured the same universal emotions that I want to express today, teaching me that emotions are not only universal, but also timeless.
