Olga Akimtseva is SBA Award winner: Exhibiting Excellence in Watercolour (Plantae2024, London), a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and member of the Russian Society Artists of Botanical Art (SABA).
At present, Olga is working in the technique of multi-layered watercolour. She is particularly attracted to flowers because of the idea of them changing as they grow. The key point of her works is preserving plants’ transient beauty in her paintings.
She holds a degree in economics and an MBA in Finance from the Higher School of Economics and has built a successful career as an executive director of the largest bank in East Europe. Precision in her work, attention to details, combined with love of drawing and interest in gardening led to a passion for botanical painting.
Olga Graduated with Distinction by Distance Learning Diploma Course of Society of Botanical Artists (UK). An SBA Diplom certifies that work meets the standards required for botanical illustration. During 2022-2024 she took part in 19 exhibitions of botanical art.
After experiencing in the financial industry for more than 25 years, in 2021 she has made the decision to transition away from that field. Olga is full time botanical artist now. Her paintings have already been presented at numerous exhibitions, reflecting her dedication and passion for botanical art, and high artistic value of the works.
