"Afterlife" - oil on canvas, 140 cm x 70 cm, 2024

Afterlife. A concept as old as time. Shaped by many philosophical and religious opinions. At the individual level, it is used to comfort oneself over the misery of life, reward after death, or hope for a better tomorrow. Systemically, used as a tool of influence to create patterns of behavior and social expectations.

From my perspective, understanding the afterlife is a place in time, not space. The past living in the minds of others. A posthumous image and a mental monument, built while still alive. A place not for us, but about us. This is why the desire to be unforgettable provokes people to prove their uniqueness. And although you don't have to be special (you just need to seem so), in the name of immortality and life after life, we upload our image to digital worlds, which will become afterlife in the future.

Oil painting with a format of 140 cm x 70 cm (with a frame of 149.5 cm x 79.5 cm) painted on linen canvas stretched on a stretcher. Framed with two frame strips. The painting is varnished with a glossy final varnish, ready to hang. Mark "Sadowski P. KF 2024". The painting is accompanied by an original certificate of authenticity.
