The Storm Before The Calm consists of a THICK, Translucent Green Glass "Brick" Vase, filled with handmade copper Razor Roze'z (tm) & a Spiral Stem Rustic Rose (tm), along with a one-of-a-kind "Cannon Rose" (tm), steel padlock, copper "cattails" made from re-purposed copper pipe & wire, the vase is FILLED with Glass Chips from Lake Michigan (Chicago) Beaches, Rocks, Sea Shells, Miniature Stainless Steel Screws, Nuts, Bolts, a pair of needle-nose pliers I broke in the process of making this creation, it's a hodge-podge of STUFF I found and made over several months this year.

A True Labor of Love that took me 50+ hours over several weeks to complete.

Pick up can be arranged in Hoffman Estates, IL, Rosemont, or in Chicago's Avondale, Brickyard, Roscoe Village, Lake View or Gold Coast; Magnificent Mile Neighborhoods.

I am a self-taught metal artist specializing in copper creations. Practically all of my materials are from recycled sources. For instance, most of the wire I use comes out of old CRT (Tube) Television Sets, Old CRT Computer Monitors, Dishwashers, Microwave Ovens, etc. I also repurpose used building materials like old copper gutters and downspouts that were sitting on homes for decades, and have a beautiful weathered patina look. I also spend many hours on the beaches of Chicago finding "sea glass" and use it for display purposes inside crystal or glass vases. I go by the name Roberto.Johnny "The Dragonfly Dude" when attending arts and craft shows around the U.S. My work has been sold to collectors from around the world. I usually spend 12 to 15 hours creating a single rose, and anywhere from 2 to 8 hours creating a single dragonfly. My work is mainly nature-themed. I like to make everything and anything from NATURE.

With Love.
