CHAND’ELLE
L'inversion du corps n'est pas une position habituelle, elle peut nous amener à réfléchir à cet inconfort, à cette notion d'impermanence de notre sécurité quotidienne. Elle nous oblige à plus de vigilance mentale et à nous affranchir de la nature instable de l'air et fixer celui-ci dans un état d'équilibre, rendant le corps plus léger et un mental souple.
Cette sculpture est réalisée en grès blanc avec chamotte extra-fine, cuite et patinée avec différents pigments.
CHAND'ELLE
The body's reversal is not a usual position, it can lead us to think about this discomfort, this notion of impermanence of our daily security. It forces us to be more alert and to free ourselves from the unstable nature of the air and fix it in a state of equilibrium, making the body lighter and a flexible mind.
This sculpture is made of white sandstone with extra-fine chamotte, cooked and patinated with different pigments.

Sylvie Bourely is a contemporary French sculptor. The female body has always inspired her, and studies in the field of fashion have sharpened her sense of observation, proportions and rigor. In her latest series of sculptures she is entirely dedicated to the production of female nudes mainly made of sandstone with white extrafine chamotte.
For the artist working the clay is like awakening the creative energy, embodied by the soul of the feminine. When she touches the clay, at that moment she enters into connection with it: it then allows her to release from its flesh the feminine content contained.
