One day I was walking through the well-known store in Moscow, where the world’s best and the most famous brands of clothing and accessories are represented. My attention was drawn to an incredible, bright fur coat in the style of patchwork. It is a type of textile mosaic where different pieces of material, scraps, are sewn according to the mosaic principle.
That was the fur coat from Yves Salomon collection and it’s become an attribute of inspiration for me.
Fur coat is a symbol of luxury life. Colored pieces of fur assembled manually in a piece of clothing by the hands of a couturier have a special value and price. Each element of the textile mosaic has its own history that hides a whole world of human destinies.
On canvas, the fur coat has acquired the characteristic silhouette of iconography, which does not seem to fit with the items of clothing at all. Icon, as a symbol of purity and holiness, contrasts with an item of luxury clothing. The golden apple in the hand, as the symbol of temptation, as the fruit of thirst for knowledge, is beyond reach. The concepts of spiritual and material are intertwined. They imperceptibly merge together and displace each other in their obvious disbalance.

Size: 47.2*31.5 in
Materials: oil, golden foil, canvas

* The painting is done on stretched canvas using top quality oil paints and materials.
* It is ready to hang on the wall. The edges have also been painted, so it is not necessary to frame it.
* Carefully packed: The painting is sent in cardboard boxes wrapped with great care in bubble paper.
