Sobre “Fulana”

Esta obra está inspirada en la abuela de la artista y en su sueño de ser actriz. Cuando ella era joven, ser actriz era algo despreciable y a las que ejercían esta profesión se las llamaba coloquialmente "fulanas", palabra que en español no sólo se utiliza para referirse a alguien cuyo nombre se desconoce o que no quiere ser nombrado, sino que también se emplea como un calificativo despectivo cuyo significado es prostituta.

La imagen muestra a una joven actriz que sostiene una máscara de teatro con la inscripción "Fulana". La joven se debate entre el deseo de realizar su sueño, aceptar las consecuencias de tal decisión y salvar su reputación.

La mano en su torso, que sujeta sutilmente el vestido rojo que recuerda el telón de un teatro, nos habla del arrepentimiento de tal situación.
A veces renunciamos a nuestras ambiciones por miedo a ser rechazados por la gente que nos rodea y por temor a la soledad.

Merche Moriana

Spain

Merche Moriana, a visual artist born in Spain in 1994, uses photography as a means to express and reflect on her own experiences and concerns. Her work is distinguished by a varied color palette, rich textures and diverse elements, through which she reinterprets the aesthetics of genres from art history. She enjoys creating scripted images that establish connections between past and present narratives, enveloping them in an illusory and mysterious atmosphere.

Throughout his career, Merche has had the honor of exhibiting his work in various individual and group exhibitions in national and international art centers. Some of his exhibitions have taken place at the Escuela Apertura in Malaga, Spain, at the Bresciani Gallery in Rome, Italy, at the Palazzo Merulana also in Rome, at the Rampa Gallery in Linares, Jaén, at the Casa delle Culture in Magenta, in Italy, at the Centro Carmen de Burgos in Baeza, Jaén, and at the Colección Museográfica de Casariche in Seville.

Additionally, Merche is grateful to have received several international awards that recognized her work and efforts. Among them, we can mention the Gold Medal at the One Eyeland Awards for portraiture, where she placed first in Spain, the Silver Medal at the WPE Awards in Paris and the Bronze Medal at the BIFA Awards in Budapest.

His most recent work, titled "Oscura Luce", was exhibited at the Italian museum La Casa del Conte Verde in Rivoli, Italy.
