Sobre “Sadness”

"Mi respiración se acelera, pensamientos catastróficos acuden a mi mente, mis ojos se llenan de lágrimas y no puedo parar de llorar. Miedo, ansiedad, mi mente se acelera y no puedo detenerla. Las emociones se disparan. Llanto. Alivio... Calma ".

Con este autorretrato represento esos momentos en los que la tristeza se apodera de mí y no puedo controlar los pensamientos de mi cabeza. Normalmente son momentos de llorar a moco tendido y después me siento tranquila. Desde la situación de pandemia he notado que estos altibajos se han acentuado. Más allá del virus, creo que es importante dar visibilidad a los problemas de salud mental que atraviesa la sociedad.

Merche Moriana

Spain

Merche Moriana, a visual artist born in Spain in 1994, uses photography as a means to express and reflect on her own experiences and concerns. Her work is distinguished by a varied color palette, rich textures and diverse elements, through which she reinterprets the aesthetics of genres from art history. She enjoys creating scripted images that establish connections between past and present narratives, enveloping them in an illusory and mysterious atmosphere.

Throughout his career, Merche has had the honor of exhibiting his work in various individual and group exhibitions in national and international art centers. Some of his exhibitions have taken place at the Escuela Apertura in Malaga, Spain, at the Bresciani Gallery in Rome, Italy, at the Palazzo Merulana also in Rome, at the Rampa Gallery in Linares, Jaén, at the Casa delle Culture in Magenta, in Italy, at the Centro Carmen de Burgos in Baeza, Jaén, and at the Colección Museográfica de Casariche in Seville.

Additionally, Merche is grateful to have received several international awards that recognized her work and efforts. Among them, we can mention the Gold Medal at the One Eyeland Awards for portraiture, where she placed first in Spain, the Silver Medal at the WPE Awards in Paris and the Bronze Medal at the BIFA Awards in Budapest.

His most recent work, titled "Oscura Luce", was exhibited at the Italian museum La Casa del Conte Verde in Rivoli, Italy.
